The folding plough is not only supposed to withstand the forces from hitting a well cover at 40 km/h or more when mounted on a large tractor or wheel loader. It is also supposed to move in a smooth and steady way without 'jumping'. We claim that our folding ploughs meet the high demands of the contractors when it comes to quality, ploughing result, service and quick access to spare parts. K.T.S Folding Ploughs are manufactured in Sweden.

Well-equipped folding plough
 K.T.S Folding Ploughs have extremely large turning angles, as much as ± 35°. This means that also wet snow is efficiently cleared from the road. K.T.S Folding Ploughs have very powerful hydraulic cylinders, which are always standard equipped with shock valves - one for each blade half - connected to gas accumulators. These valves release when hitting an obstacle. If you only have one double-acting outlet, the plough can be equipped with two electric valves operated by a 3-way switch in the driver’s cab. Please note that the electrohydraulic selector valve (see specifications) is extra equipment.


Thanks to the design with as much as ± 35° continuously adjustable angling of the wings the plough is very narrow during transportation. This increases road safety as well as your own safety when driving on frequently used roads. This also means that it will be possible to pass through narrow passages with a plough that has a large working width and then makes your work efficient where there is room for it.
 

The centre of a folding plough is its weakest point. That is why we have chosen a design with a pin of as much as 50 mm diameter. Furthermore, the hinges that enclose the centre pin are made of 25 mm thick steel plate. The hinges are then welded in both the front and the back of the blade.



 

Specifications

K.T.S Folding Plough is very high with a rounded bend of 90° (see picture above). The reasons for this are several:

  • Decrease the snow smoke and improve sight over the blade. This also increases road safety.
  • Efficient snow clearing also at large snow depth.
  • Runs smoother and saves fuel, which means less costs when clearing wet snow, since the snow can roll in the blade and not only be pushed sideways.

 

 More about the design

The cutters of the K.T.S Folding Ploughs are, of course, divided into different sections, 'flaps', which can fold backwards when hitting an obstacle on the road surface. The flaps have very large freedom of movement, which is something that protects the rest of the plough. The springs are made of 12 mm spring steel so that the sprung cutters will not start to vibrate at high speed. All pins are equipped with lubricatable and replaceable bushings, for maximum durability. Look at the picture below and you will see the very robust box beam that the springs are mounted in.

The cutters, which naturally are reversible for lower costs, are made from cutting steel Hardox® 500 brinell hardness.

 K.T.S Folding Plough is so designed that it comes as close to the tractor as possible. This makes the plough run more evenly and steadily and take less space in narrow places.

K.T.S Folding Ploughs are standard equipped with wear soles, which are vertically continuously adjustable. As extra equipment we can supply support wheels with real wheel axles, which can be run at 40 km/h. This is very useful extra equipment if you clear sand roads where the material is not frozen. This extra equipment is actually a saving because support wheels are not worn to the same extent as wear soles.

K.T.S Folding Ploughs have very powerful hydraulic cylinders, which are equipped with shock valves connected to gas accumulators. The valves release when hitting an obstacle.

K.T.S Folding Ploughs are standard equipped in such a way that it takes two double-acting outlets on the tractor/loader to operate the plough, one for the right and one for the left half of the blade.

There are no completely smooth and even roads. For this reason K.T.S Folding Ploughs are equipped with both horizontal and vertical oscillation. The horizontal oscillation is as much as ± 5°. It is possible to lock this oscillation if you would rather use the float position in the loader/3-point hitch.

The number of makes and models of loaders, telescopic loaders and small loaders increases all the time. That is why the need for different attachments for our tools also increases.

Thus it is very important that you are never stuck with a certain type of attachment. Next time you change your tractor or wheel loader you will find K.T.S bolted attachments a great advantage. Just loosen the eight M16 bolts and mount the new attachment instead! This is much easier and safer than cutting away the old attachment and mount a new one.
